FutureWorx Society (formerly the Cobequid Neighbourhood Work Activity Program) is a community based non-profit organization with a focus on “Helping People Realize their Potential”.  Established in April 1984, the service offerings have evolved to encompass the provision of services to all individuals experiencing difficulties responding to developing labour market trends, either in upgrading their skills or accessing modern job search techniques and supports.

The FutureWorx Centres - Truro & Elmsdale
FutureWorx programs and services take a unique holistic approach to service delivery.   Our model is client focussed and our evolution is driven by the desire to ensure that the array of services offered, both self-directed and enhanced employment services, are relevant and effective for the communities we serve.

FutureWorx Job Search Centre – Elmsdale
FutureWorx Job Search Centre, Elmsdale, offers job search assistance to the residents of East Hants and surrounding area.  The centre has also been instrumental in the development of additional enhanced employment services and initiatives that are structured to assist individuals seeking employment.  The centre is a great success and it continues to grow and to expand its services.  Several initiatives connected with the Centre include: Career/Job Fairs, YouthWorx, Job Creation Partnerships as well as the Youth Information Officers initiatives. 

FutureWorx – Truro
FutureWorx Truro offers job search services to members of the general public as well as enhanced employment skills development services for selected individuals interested in increasing work skills.  The enhanced employment services entail a combination of vocational skills development (coupled with practicum placement), personal development / counseling, academic upgrading and Job Finding Workshops.  The centre has also been instrumental in the development of additional employment and skills development services and initiatives that are structured to assist individuals seeking employment and to fill gaps in service.     

It is an honour to work in the communities of Colchester and East Hants and to be part of a dynamic organization that functions as an important stepping stone in our clients’ efforts to find and secure a place in today’s world of work.
